The earliest castles known to man were built during the 9th and 10th centuries.
Modern France, Germany and northern Italy is where they started .
Over the centuries the area in which castles were built grew until finally by the end of the 15th century when demand
for comfort became more of an importance.
Castles are no longer built; however during the last few centuries an interest in restoring and preserving our heritage
has become important. As children we can see how our world today has grown based on these basic structures.
